Haunt [WWE; Gangrel, Luna Vachon]
Dec. 19th, 2017 06:11 pmTitle: Haunt
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress
Rating: PG
Spoilers: circa late 1999, but otherwise vague
Warnings: vampires and therefore mentions blood
Prompt/Fill: none
Word Count: 432
Summary: The Vampire Warrior doesn't have the patience for normal humans right now. Good thing Luna Vachon isn't normal.
Note: another story that pulls from kayfabe -- David Heath is a real vampire in this one, and Luna really is from the Other Side of Darkness.
Haunt
The Vampire Warrior paced in the shadows, restless and not wanting to deal with mortal frivolousness at the moment.
Mr. McMahon's promotion called him Gangrel, which pissed off people who played World of Darkness. They thought he was purposely misrepresenting what a "gangrel" was in the game. It was amusing. Thanks to his wrestling gimmick and alias, they would never guess his true nature.
As Edge was fond of saying... Beware, take care, for the freaks come out at night!
And some of those freaks were the restless undead.
"There you are!" Luna rasped, as she caught sight of him. She grabbed him by the arm. "What are you lurking around here for? Waiting for some unsuspecting snack to wander by?"
"I'm not hungry," he said, despite the fact that both of them knew it was a lie. A vampire's hunger for the blood of the living was never truly sated, though it could be abated through regular feedings.
"Pity," Luna replied with a grin, "or I'd go catch Jacqueline for you to drink from. That might give me an edge in tonight's match."
The Vampire Warrior put his arm firmly around Luna's shoulders and mock scolded her, "Now, princess, you know that's against my rules."
It wasn't fair to take blood from a fellow wrestler on a night that they were expected to perform for a crowd. Especially if he didn't give any blood back. An exchange of blood would empower a human, and in small amounts could be done without any danger of turning them into a vampire like him. It was why the Hardy Boyz had originally accepted his offer to form the New Brood, for the brief time that alliance had lasted.
"Oh, I do," Luna practically purred, "but I also like to test boundaries."
He kissed her. His princess from the Other Side of Darkness... she wasn't like the rest of these humans. If only she'd accept his offer to be turned, then everything would be perfect.
But the Vampire Warrior knew that waiting for perfection was a fool's idea. Whatever mistakes he made in his eternal existence, at least he'd made them while trying to reach for happiness and success.
"We can do that later. Maybe I'll let you be the one to give me 'boundaries' tonight. That can be your prize for flattening Jacqueline in the match."
"Ooh, you know how to give a girl incentive to win!" Luna laughed. She didn't really need an extra reason to go out and bring pain to an opponent, but it was always fun when she had one.

Date: 2017-12-20 02:16 am (UTC)I love this paragraph.
This was a nice little behind-the-scenes glimpse of these two (loved the WoD shoutout, too XD), with a bit of nice worldbuilding. Well done.

Date: 2017-12-20 02:22 am (UTC)I had fun writing Luna, just like I always have fun watching her matches. I bet she'll show up in my writing again sometime.
