All Nighter [Rick Steiner]
Jan. 10th, 2021 05:54 pmTitle: All Nighter
Author: D.L.SchizoAuthoress
Rating: G
Spoilers: vague timeframe, but I'm picturing late 80s, early 90s Japan
Warnings: none
Prompt/Fill: "sugar high"
Word Count: 200
Summary: At least, this time, it was just a soda bender.
All Nighter
'It seemed like a good idea at the time.'
Rick Steiner might have used that as an excuse, but really... it implied that he was thinking about what he was doing, and that was debatable.
"Too much sugar and too much caffeine. You know how you get," Scotty would sigh, when he heard about this, shaking his head like he was the older brother. Like it was his job to watch out for Rick, and not the other way around.
Still, Rick wasn't sure how many hours he'd spent in the hotel's karaoke box, chugging various flavors of Ramune -- at least until the novelty of the stranger flavors, like chili oil, had worn off. The girls who'd originally rented the space seemed to be into it, laughing and cheering him on whenever he picked a song that they recognized.
Rick burped -- far too many sodas tonight, really -- and shot an apologetic look to the nearest of the girls. She only giggled, and continued flipping through the song choices.
And, well... she picked "Call Me" again, and that song had been fun the first three times. What was one more? A party, that's what.
And Rick was always down to party.
